The Navigator reference alignment system uses a wide-angle 35mm slide projector to display a reference grid specific to the individual display system configuration. The projector displays reference grid patterns consisting of lines of equal angular spacing, both in azimuth and elevation, which is used to assist in the alignment of the display projectors. In addition to the 5° grid, the slides can also display other alignment features, such as channel centers and blend regions. The 35mm slide is generated as an output from the display’s master CAD model. Using common design data ensures that the grid is accurately formed on the slide. The alignment projector is positioned adjacent to the upper display projectors, and is switchable via the remote control handset. |
